On the Issues

The lack of affordable housing is a major problem in Allston-Brighton. Liz has successfully increased the number of affordable units in new developments.  She supports strategies to prioritize sustainable growth, socioeconomic diversity, and more affordable home ownership and rental options.

Liz is a tireless advocate for improved public transit to ensure that Allston-Brighton residents have access to reliable, efficient and affordable public transportation that meets the needs of our growing population and supports economic development.

Allston-Brighton is impacted by climate change with the urban heat island effect, and extreme precipitation with flooding. Liz is committed to preserving green space, expanding the tree canopy, improving stormwater management and  implementing efficient building standards. 

All Boston students deserve an excellent education to achieve their full potential which is why Liz supports strengthening early education, STEAM programs in every school, and career pathways to prepare our young people for jobs in the life science and new industries. 

Preserving and supporting the artist community  in Allston-Brighton is a top priority for Liz, which is why she supports establishing an arts and culture district to 

rebuild our vibrant artist community so that it will be an economic driver for the neighborhood.
